Kim Delaney (born Kim Delaney) is an American actor who is best known for portraying Detective Diane Russell in ABCs NYPD Blue in which she was awarded the Emmy Award. She is best known for her performance in All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives. Delaney is the sole daughter of an United Auto Workers senior executive and a domestic worker, was raised by four siblings. When she was a kid she longed to be an official in the courtroom. However, after graduating from high school and relocating into New York in the 1980s then she started modeling. In her teens, her first role as an actress was in the soap opera of 1980 All My Children. Since then, Delaney has appeared in numerous film and television dramas. Like her career but her personal life hasn't been happy or successful. She has been in the past talented actress struggled to overcome alcoholism and had two marriages fall apart. In 2005 she lost the custody of her only son.
